There’s not much going around these parts, which is exactly the appeal. The beach is small and sandy, and perfect if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the bigger resorts. But don’t worry, there’s a little beach bar and restaurant when you’re in need of drinks, snacks and a bit of socialising.
If you’re the golfing sort, Anfi Tauro offers a spectacular experience on a desert-like course up in the mountains. There’s also a fair few hiking trails you can pick up too, where a good work out and pinch-me panoramas are both guaranteed.
Gran Canaria
Bahia Feliz Beach has a mix of dark sand and pebbles with inviting blue waters. It’s smaller than some of the other beaches and has some secluded spots. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the view, relax and lose yourself in your holiday read. And when you get peckish, there are tavernas along the prom behind.
Gran Canaria
Barranco de Guayadeque is a beautiful ravine with a fascinating history. Hidden in the cliffside is a warren of natural and manmade caves, once ancient burial sites and later homes - many of the caverns are still lived in today. A museum gives you an insight into the early settlements on the island.
Gran Canaria
On a guided tour of the Bogeda Las Tirajanas winery, your English-speaking guide will explain how winemaking in Gran Canaria has evolved. You’ll see how the white, rosé and red varieties are made there today. Of course you get to taste them, served with local olives, bread and cheese, and you can buy some to take home too.
