A charming church

Okay we said village, but really, we’re talking more of a hamlet here. The amenities and attractions are limited but the 18th-century church is an absolute must-see. The wonderful whitewashed exterior is truly beautiful, while the views that surround are nothing short of magical.

Funchal here we come

Just 50km away from Faja da Ovelha is Madeira’s capital, Funchal. It’s all going on in this culture-packed city, with terracotta-topped houses, gorgeous gardens, historic marvels and even a cable car! The Old Town, museums, churches and shopping options are all you could wish for and more.
