Let’s talk history…
It’s no wonder culture and traditions have become such a huge part of life here in Crevillent – it was conquered in 1263 by James I of Aragon and followed by the Romans and the Moors! From the torch-lit Easter procession to age-old remnants that sprinkle the city, Crevillent is enchanting and then some.
For a lesser-known city, Crevillent sure gives the famous Spanish classics a run for their money when it comes to its annual events calendar. From the huge Marearock Festival to rallies and motocross events, you’ll be surprised how much goes on round these parts!
An unusual occupation
Just when you thought you knew everything about Crevillent, we tell you that it’s famed for its carpet industry! Yep, you read that right, they’ve been manufacturing beautiful carpets here since the 18th century and the industry still thrives today. The farming of olives, almonds and pomegranates is huge here too.
