A Riad Experience

A riad is a traditional Moroccan house or palace centered around an internal courtyard or garden. Often renovated into boutique-style hotels, they're small and personal, while still providing traditional hotel accommodation. That means you can expect incredibly friendly, welcoming service throughout your stay. Rooms are usually uniquely decorated, so they can be a bit different within the same property (and images online can vary) - but they incorporate intricate Moroccan design and architecture. Riads also don't tend to have liquor licenses or serve alcohol, so we recommend trying the local mint tea instead! Because of their location along narrow pedestrian streets, riads are not always accessible by public transport or taxi. They may also show on map apps as on the main streets, yet they can be tucked down side streets - so plan your route before you go. You'll soon find that the path to discovering your riad is part of the authentic Moroccan experience.
Due to the typical style of riads, some rooms and facilities may be accessed via steps and therefore may not be suitable for customers with restricted mobility. Some riads may offer accommodation across more than one building, so your room may be in a second property rather than the main one you'll check in at. But you'll be shown there by the attentive hotel staff.
