Hotel Astoria Prague City

The photos flatter the reality. It is a rather stark and fairly dated hotel. Very clean and efficiently run though no restaurant, other than breakfast room and no bar. The staff did their jobs but didn’t give the impression that they particularly enjoyed their work. The double bed was two singles pushed together with single bed sheets and duvets. The latter didn’t seem big enough even for single beds so had to ask for two more plus extra pillows since those supplies were pretty flat. The room was a decent size and had a safe and mini bar. The place could best be described as functional and very well located with the old town square and loads of shops, bars & restaurants nearby. Couldn’t quibble too much since it was pretty reasonably priced.

good location for city break , street well lit etc ,seemed pretty safe , once you get your bearings and work out the alleys really handy for everything , hotel was clean , room was comfortable , breakfast was decent and plentiful only downside was maybe lack of a bar or café but there are plenty within walking distance

We were at Astoria last June so went back. Great staff great food shame that guests all seem to be POLISH now. Kept us awake until 4am drinking lou behaviour! Jet 2 are not going in 2018 can understand why!!! Reception said lots of complaints Shame as we loved the Hotel. Management to blame taking guests like these!!

well worn,.broken wash basin ,bath tiles black mould. carpets stained .wardrobe door in unusable state guides jammed an not functional. the noise out side went on all night causing disruption to sleep.

Stayed for 4 nights on a city break. Hotel is in a great location 5 minute walk from old town square. Rooms are a good size, plenty of the usual facilities. Room made up very clean and tidy every day. Our room faced the street so there is some late night noise from outside, but this can't be hard with the window shut. Breakfast was very good with the usual selections on offer, good coffee too! Overall the hotel is very pleasant, well located, with very pleasant staff. I'd happily stay there again.

We visited for a short break the hotel was central to everything it was clean and room spacious . We were on the third floor on the corner of the hotel there was quite a lot of noise from a near by bar and also the bin men and bottle collector. The breakfast was sufficient and plenty of it. The staff were welcoming and pleasent. If visiting again this would be the hotel we would choose again

Couldn't fault our stay here at all, great little hotel, staff very friendly, check-in/out was effortless. Breakfast is continental as expected but with fair range of hot foods available although some days you will get broccoli instead of baked beans ha ha ha. There's 2 lifts, porters to take your luggage if you need help, it's quite a small hotel so easy to navigate through it. Room was great, had everything you'd need including a free safe and kettle, ours also had a balcony (6th floor). Maid service was excellent, room was kept spotless and towels changed every day, hairdryer was powerful enough so wish I hadn't bothered taking mine. Location is good, just a 5 min walk to Old Town square, all the sights are well signposted. Wenceslas square is in easy walking distance, about 10/15 mins walk, as is Charles Bridge. We booked a full day tour at reception (6.5 hours) which included lunch and a boat trip, free pick up from hotel, bus to Prague Castle then it's on foot from there but the guide was fantastic and a great way to see the sights, get your bearings and find out all about the city. I think Prague is expensive, definitely more so than Germany (if it helps for comparison) The local currency is the Czech Crown (not Euro as we presumed and the GBP seemed to have a better rate of conversion). There are lots of restaurants in the area so check out all of the menus outside while you're on your travels but i'd say the majority are Italian or traditional Czech cuisine and none disappointed us. There's a great little cocktail bar near to the hotel, Deja vu, opens until 3 am but has happy hour between 6-9pm but believe the happy hour choice is limited from reviews we saw, we went in later though. We'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

The location of this hotel is only a few minutes from old town square,rooms are a decent size with all facilities reqd, very clean, average hotel breakfast would certainly revisit/recommend for a short break

Clean, tidy and freindly staff.lots of choice for Breakfast. Rooms cleaned daily, they were spotless. It was close to the old town central for walking everywhere. Lots of nice places to eat and drink.

Stayed at the Astoria in Prague over the new year 2015, very good central hotel for all the bars and restaurants. Rooms very clean and tidy had all the amenities needed for a short break, only down fall there wasn't a bar in the hotel where you could have a drink while waiting on friends to come down to go out. Staff very helpful nothing to much trouble for Petra and her colleagues. Provided good advice on attractions in Prague and good restaurants. Would definitely stay again at Astoria when Visiting Prague again.
