A little culture here, a little nightlife there – elegant Budapest ticks all the boxes. Split by the Danube River, it's a tale of two cities. On the UNESCO-stamped west side, amble through the tree-lined boulevards and cobbled streets of Buda and baroque buildings spring into view. Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church and Buda Castle will make you swoon. But that's just one part of this cosmopolitan city. After dark, over in the east, edgy Pest is the place to be. What are you in the mood for? Take your pick from quirky ruin pubs and underground clubs to rooftop terraces and cool cocktail bars. Hangovers can be cured at the grand, centuries-old bathhouses peppered throughout the Hungarian capital – there are lots to choose from!
The Hungarian capital is teeming with tinkling market stalls and majestic architecture, so you’ve really got it all at your fingertips during a Budapest Christmas market break. Enjoy a cup of mulled wine,...
Soak up the twin pleasures of architecture and music at the Hungarian State Opera. Commissioned by Archduke Franz Joseph and opened in 1884, this grand and imposing opera house offers world-class acoustics at...
Bask in Budapest's ancient beauty from St Stephen's Basilica. This architectural triumph offers spectacular views from the dome, reached by a 364-stair climb (or a lift, if you prefer). Don't miss the reliquary...

Convenient location to Christmas markets, restaurants and bars. Very friendly staff, especially at breakfast. The main issue for this hotel is the room. It had a terrible smell in the bathroom. It literally made you gag and feel sick! We complained and moved room on same floor 6. The smell was actually worse in this room. Again we complained, but they just sprayed air freshener! Breakfast was really lovely but there was always a queue to be seated and sometimes quite a wait. If the smell was fixed we would stay again.
