Tivoli Lagos

As a solo traveller it feels even more important to be welcomed and looked after and that definitely happened at this hotel. It was really useful to be shown to the room. The hotel is spread over a number of linked buildings which to me was a real positive - not just a standard block of rooms. It has character. Super room with good facilities and really good Wi-Fi. Perfectly clean. Staff friendly and helpful. I can only comment on the breakfast but great variety for a vegetarian. I also loved being able to eat outside on the balcony . In a great position to easily walk in to the town or to the large supermarket. Near a great variety of restaurants and cafes. Also very close to the railway station and marina. Definitely would recommended

Excellent location, 5 minute walk to Logos center. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Polite and attentive staff. Hotel is on multiple levels so lots of steps especially if room is at rear of hotel. Good size pool with plenty of sun beds. Fantastic shuttle bus service to beach with free sunbeds for guests. Comfortable and friendly hotel vibe.

Really lived up to expectations. Room clean, comfortable and spacious. Balcony overlooked the gardens which were well cared for and a quiet haven. Buffet breakfast and evening meals were tasty interesting and plentiful and always looked fresh. Would be happy to stay there again.

The hotel was very good - nice, modern renovated room but with a balcony view of buildings!The hotel staff were very friendly and the housemaids worked very hard at keeping our room clean and tidy.The breakfasts were first class with something to suit everyone's dietary requirements.The only black mark is that the hotel should take down the picture of a beach in Jet2's holiday brochure as it suggests the view is from the hotel when in fact it takes 10/15 minutes to get to the beach by bus (which is laid on by the hotel!).I chose this hotel because of the beach view but would have picked a different hotel had I known differently.

Has had a referb since our last visit and looks and feels a lot fresher. We had a issue with a room allocated near some upgrade work which was not acceptable. This was sorted and new room sorted very swiftly. staff very helpful. Bar prices and food very reasonable for a hotel. Good service to the beech and plenty of free beds there to use all in good condition and snack bar area and small pool very clean.

The hotel was closed for quite some time for refurbishment - The room we were in had the same furniture and fittings as they were in 1997 when we first visited. (It was the hotel Lagos in those days and we have stopped there nearly every year since) It was the worst room we have ever had - a flight of steps within the room and the TV only received Portuguese channels (Which I reported to no avail)

Must be my fourth time at the Tivioli. With welcoming staff, great location this is a superb hotel for Lagos. I heard that they are to do some extra upgrading and hope that that does not take the character out of the hotel

This was a short break with my daughter in early April. The weather was mixed with only 1 day where sunbathing round the pool was possible. The pool is excellent and food at the pool bar very good indeed although a little pricey. The other days we explored the town and shops and ate in the local restaurants where food was very good indeed. We didn't manage to locate a beach but weren't really looking for one. This probably isn't the right location for a beach holiday.

Like others , I was really quite concerned about some of the negative comments about this hotel , therefore as was a special occasion I decided to pay for a upgrade to a suite. Room was lovely , although was a little tired . The hotel is a lovely traditional hotel , beautiful architecture, and a lovely atmosphere, I really hope they do not change this when they start the refurbishment . The hotel staff are extremely approachable and helpful ,the breakfast was excellent, with a massive choice including fizz, and you could not wish for a better location in Lagos . I would highly recommend this hotel, am looking forward to going back next year.

Main areas have been modernised, bedroom comfortable but furniture very tired. I understand refurbishment taking place during Winter 2017/18. Excellent location for shops, marina etc. Our second visit and would return again if visiting Lagos

I spent 12 days at the Tivoli Lagos Hotel, and I enjoyed every minute. On arrival I found the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated close to town, with excellent shops available. The hotel is a typical old style portugease building, very beautiful, with all the amenities you need for a relaxing holiday. There are several lounge areas with a good bar. I found the indoor pool, sauna and jaccusi very useful during cooler days. There is a large pool outside with a good area to relax. The dinning room is a good size, and the food and variety excellent. My bedroom was a good size and well maintained. You would not be disappointed if you stayed at this hotel.

The staff was very helpful,friendly and polite. There was a good selection of food at breakfast and cooked to a high standard. The facilities are excellent even providing a bus to their own beach pool every 30 minutes and provide sun beds on the beach. Free towels are given out to use so no need to take your own.

Have stayed at hotel 5 times now. It needs updating and maintenance. Service from staff was excellent. Bath was completely grey with wear at the bottom. Balcony seemed to be moving towards the swimming pool and bushes were in need of pruning as they were encroaching on the balcony space.

This is our fourth stay at the Tivoli and this time we brought our family with us. The property is a little dated but very clean and ideally situated. We find excellent restaurants every time we visit and can recommend No Patio for a fabulous dinner and Bar Quim on Mea Praia for amazing sizzling prawns with a glass of vino verde for lunch
