With 40km of sandy coastline to laze upon on, beach days are definitely on the cards here. Playa del Búnker, just down the coast, is a lesser-known plot if you want to escape the crowds, while Playa del Cabo de la Plata is backed by some tasty beach bars and restaurants.

Catch a film

For a film night with a difference, make your way down to the old Palacio de la Chanca, a 15th-century palace built by the dukes of Medina-Sidonia. Today, these remarkable ruins host open-air film screenings between June and September, along with some markets.
