Hotel Mimosa

Double room booked we got a room very small with a large bunk bed in the room with 2 single beds Shower so small if my partner dropped his shower gel couldn’t move to pick it up Shower didn’t work for 2 days they said we weren’t using it properly only to find out after a lot of arguing that it was broken It had 2 pools one round the back of the hotel had broken tiles and the area was not very clean

Please read this review before considering your stay. The cleanliness of the hotel was really bad. The room was basic, so we weren’t expecting much however it got ‘cleaned’ every day, but by cleaned I mean new toilet roll and the bed made. Our bed sheets never got changed, the floor was black and was never mopped or dusted, with cobwebs in the corners and dust on the skirting boards. The balcony table looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, with the glass on the balcony, balcony door, bathroom mirror and shower never cleaned with marks all over. If you’re choosing this hotel you will need to be petite, as you cannot move or even bend down in the shower - the shower also floods the entire bathroom, which isn’t great when the cleaners don’t clean. Numerous times we caught the cleaners on their phones, where they only spent about 5 minutes per room. I never seen the pool area get cleaned at all, there was sand in the pool and the glass from the bridge of the pool was rank - looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The tables around the pool never got cleaned and often bottles or glasses would still be there days after. We chose half board and stayed for 7 nights - the fry up breakfast is basic with sausage, bacon, eggs (yolk was never runny), hash browns, beans. There is also option for cereals and some choice of fruit - however there could have been more fruit choices in my opinion. For dinner, you got choice of a menu where you chose your starter, main and dessert. The food for dinner was excellent, plenty of choices and they always provided 2 specials for your main, which on a Sunday is a roast. Anna and the man who often helped with drinks were fabulous. The location of the hotel is great, right on the strip. There’s a few reviews that complains about the noise, but as long as you shut your balcony door and the shutter (this can be hidden but it is there) you won’t hear a thing. This hotel has so much potential, however we won’t stay here again due to the cleanliness. If this improves we would be more than happy to stay again, as the food was excellent and the location was great.

I’d been to the mimosa previously, a few times, and I wasn’t disappointed. The welcome was warm and friendly, the room was clean and done daily, the house keeping staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble, the meals were really amazing and it was all organised beautifully. The location is spot on! The staff listened to me beforehand, when I’d contacted them. I couldn’t fault any part of it. And of course the pools were cleaned, filtered and had a wonderful atmosphere.
