Key facts about Lopud

Island living

Hundreds of years ago, Lopud was the well-kept secret of Dubrovnik’s aristocratic set. But you’ll still see for yourself the island’s considerable charm, with its sandy beaches – rare for this corner of Croatia – flower-filled woodlands and tiny, traditional village. It all feels remarkably like stepping back in time.

The best beaches in Croatia

Sunj Beach is famous around these parts for its dusty, soft sand and shallow waters. In fact, all around the island you’ll find pockets of golden grains, sheltered on all sides by sun-dappled forests and picturesque cliffs. To see them, wander the coastline on foot for a few hours.
