Valamar Meteor Hotel

Needs a lot more sun umbrellas when the weather is really hot. We had to be asked to move rooms because we were just near the lifts and it was particularly noisy which they obliged willingly.the reception people were really helpful.

We booked for B & B since we knew of many good restaurants nearby for dinner. Good breakfasts. Smallish room and smaller balcony but did not spend too much time there. Great side sea view.Decent evening entertainment. Dining room staff all looked very glum apart from girl dishing up omelettes.

A slightly bigger hotel than we would normally go for but its position on the front and nearness to the town centre really sold this hotel. We had a side sea-view balcony looking east into the sun set which apart from the fully front facing rooms was probably one of the best views. The room its self was very serviceable, pretty standard, clean and tidy with a small settee in addition to the usual furniture. The safe was free (really annoys me when you have to pay) but no tea/coffee making facilities so bought a travel kettle. Food was pretty standard and as expected, good choice if a little unimaginative. However, my wife is vegetarian and except for one night there was no clear vegetarian dish, plenty of vegetables but no vegetarian dish. There was a vegetable lasagne but it had meat in it! Mixed dishes did not have any contents description so it was pot luck as to whether it had mean and likewise I had to take my chances and my antihistamine to cope with allergies.All that was just a bit of an annoyance but did not detract from the holiday. BUT it would have been nice to get a smile from the staff, they must have some poor managers to work for. Yes I would go back again.
