Aldemar Knossos Royal

We stayed at the knossos royal in crete. Good pools, great food, the head chef was outstanding as we needed a gluten free menu. Only down side is the rooms were quite dated and not 5 star in my opinion. Would stay again and my children really enjoyed it.

We were there for a wedding, we payed for the plus package a lot more than any other guests and it was a total waste of money, we had yellow bands and everyone else in the resort had blue, basically we paid extra money for a plus package and it was useless, we didn't even have a pool near us, all the other people paid less than us, we asked the hotel to change our room it was awful and no water no tea or coffee or sugar when we arrived at midnight, we moved the next day lunch time to another room, which was fine still no shared pool, we payed more than the others I would never book plus again in this resort, the staff were lovely and very helpful and kind, but I still feel that something was missing from our holiday I did speak to the rep jet 2. Come she also wasn't that bothered, I asked at the main desk as well what do we get xtra no one really had the same answer, don't bother with paying xtra for the plus package it's not worth it.

This was the third time we have been to this Resort and it did not disappoint. The rooms were located by the pool just next to the beach. The staff could not do enough for us anything we needed they made sure we had in a very timely manner. Food was excellent whether in the buffet or one of the other Restaurants. Bar staff were friendly and quick enough that you did not need to go to the bar at all. Two sides of the hotel the beaches were so different. One side sand with lovely waves the other side rock and flat so you could snorkel very easily. Struggling to find fault in this place as we could not find one.

Room was roomy with considerate interior. Plenty space to hang clothes, shelves and drawers. Able to empty suitcases and tuck them away. Bathroom thoughtfully equipped with towel rails and hangers to enable towels to dry. Adequate balcony with table and 2 chairs that gave shelter from the wind and nice on an afternoon. Would have liked loungers to feel more relaxed. Plenty choice of excellent food. Full board was super and allowed for coffees and bottled water whenever and excellent alcoholic drinks. Sunbathing was excellent with lots of smaller areas so as not to feel overcrowded. Towels and loungers with mattresses were plentiful. Felt very safe with covid here and most followed mask wearing rules. (alas my husband got it on return journey home followed by me 3 days later) Entertainment was very good of an evening when we were able to get to it following evening meal. Sometimes we missed the start. All in all a lovely place to stay and the staff were all excellent during our week there.

This is a lovely Hotel set in lovely, well maintained grounds. Rooms are kept clean. They are probably due a refurb but beds are comfy and rooms are kept clean. We found the food to be excellent. Plenty of choice. The allinc wines were, we found, very good as were the drinks & cocktails. I booked a bungalow for myself, husband & granddaughter and at last minute a bungalow for our daughter-she needed time to herself so was happy to pay underoccupancy for a separate bungalow. We had problems on arrival which was very upsetting and only resolved when I spoke to Jet2 rep two days later. We found the sunbeds a real issue and were not alone with this problem. The management did take it on board eventually and aimed to remove towels from unoccupied beds at a certain time. It is unfair how people hog beds and should be sorted by management and not left to upset holidaymakers. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. We have some very good memories but also we had issues where there was a total lack of empathy with problems that occurred. All I would say is to go to your rep and not to the management should you need assistance.

Garden rooms were certainly not up to the standard of a four/five star hotel ,I have a complaint which is being looked at by Jet2 at this moment.We went for a family get-together for husbands 70th and sons 40th birthday, really disappointed by rooms and main restaurant.

Amazing hotel on the beach. Home from home. No fights to get sunbeds. Hotel very clean and food is very good. Always plenty to choose from. Free visits to speciality restaurants during your stay. Rula at the beach bar is wonderful and works very hard. Nothing is too much hard work for anyone. Looking forward to our next visit.

Don't normally leave reviews, but we were blown away by the hotel. Food was incredible - widest choice and tastiest buffet restaurant I have come across. Inclusive food and drinks all outdid our expectations. Hotel itself was beautifully done, very clean throughout and wonderful Greek feel. Fabulous positioning - walking distance from Hersonissos town, but on an outcrop featuring North and East facing beaches. Stunning views. Perfect, clear blue Mediterranean waters. Only criticisms were that the hotel's private North beach was fairly windy in May. The hotel's own evening entertainment was also pretty dead. Both issues due to it being early in the season. Wouldn't say it's the best hotel for real party seekers (though could easily get taxis down to Hersonissos town clubs). Would 100% recommend for anyone else!

We spent a fabulous week at the Aldemar Knossos Royal in Crete. We had a ground floor garden view room that was perfect. The outlook was onto gardens and a fountain and very quiet. The room had a huge comfortable bed and tea and coffee making facilities. You can get fresh milk for a brew from the shop close to the big pool. The patio area was lovely to soak up the sun. The food was good with lots of choice- we were all inclusive - and really enjoyed the main restaurant food. We also dined at the two other restaurants which had delicious food. The pool was spotless but a bit chilly. The hotel is about 20 mins walk from Hersonossis past the gay beach and along the stunning coastline. Staff at the Hotel were lovely and really friendly. We had a really good holiday and had time to enjoy the tour to the Palace of Knossos and also the Cretan Village Tour which included lunch in an olive grove which we loved.

Fantastic hotel, excellent food, excellent facilities, excellent location, one bit of advice would be to hire a car or you will be stuck in one place as the bus services are not that great, beach is very close but a bit small and can get very busy.Pool is great for kids but the sea is rather rough when the wind blows and certainly not good for childrenLate September when we arrived most of the bars and entertainment on site is closed during the evenings so limited places to go on an evening.Will be going back next year but not as late as we did this year.
