Keys facts about Thassos Town
Hunt down history
From crumbling temples to ancient gates, there’s so much to uncover. One of the most impressive sights being the ancient theatre! It sits just above the town and showcases some amazing views of the old harbour and out to sea. It was once used for gladiator duels and music performances in front of around 2,000 spectators!
Chilled-out nights
This buzzy town comes to life at night, but in a very laidback way. Take your pick from seaside bars, cosy cafés and music venues along the harbour, where you can enjoy cocktails, local wine and Greek music while overlooking the Aegean Sea. There’s a friendly atmosphere, so it’s an ideal spot for evening strolls, late dinners and even dancing!
Beautiful beaches
The Blue Flag town beach, Palio Limani, is just a stone’s throw from the central streets. It can get quite busy though, so get down early to bag a good spot. If you fancy something more secluded, just hop on a water taxi to Makryammos or Marble Beach, which are just a short boat ride away along the coast.
