Zakantha Beach Hotel

We have been coming here off and on for 15 years. The staff are helpful and polite. Bedrooms are large and have everything you need. Bathrooms are basic but adequate bath and shower. Towels are changed frequently along with the linen and you can always ask for any extra. Great location at the end of Argassi with plenty of choice of bars and restaurants.

We have visited this hotel 5 times over the past 12 years and are returning again in 2020. The hotel is right on a small beach with a pool and sun beds in the garden area. Restaurants and shops are within 2 minutes walk . The hotel is a great base to visit the island with Zante town within a 40 minutes walk. The hotel is not modern and we only do Bed and Breakfast but it suits our needs perfectly.

We stayed here in late July, the staff were so welcoming. Hotel and room was clean and tidy. Only a few steps away from the beach. We only had breakfast at the hotel and there was loads to choose from. The whole family was happy. Pool area was kept clean and tidy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone

Great beach front hotel. Easy access to restaurants . Friendly staff. Rooms are cleaned daily with towels and sheets changed every 2 days. Bathroom a little outdated but sufficient for holiday. Pool and free sun beds available on site.

A lovely beachside hotel. Perfect if you want to lay on the beach which is just feet away, or by the pool.A good selection of food at the pool bar too.Monica will look after you at the bar (am looking forward to seeing her again with all of our new found friends, when we return next July)!All the bars and restaurants that you could possibly want within a 10 minute walk away.

Enjoyable holiday. Agassi great place,everything on the main street Hotel good, staff very friendly. Hidden extra €7.00 per day Air conditioning, Safe & Fridge €15 & €17 respectively per week. If you like the beach then the Sunbeds cost €6.00 for two per day. If you are on a two week holiday and you take air conditioning, safe, fridge and go to the beach each day this would be an addition cost of €246.00. It does not appear on company web sites apart form local charges may occur. You need to be aware of the addition expense as it adds to the overall holiday cost which most people do not plan for. Apart from that Holiday was great

We ave had a fantastic time and will be going back next year.will only do bed and breakfast next time Monica on the bar is fantastic and makes good cocktailso and welcomes every one. The staff are all helpful married ta and ruddy especially

The Hotel was very clean and tidy and all the staff were very friendly.. The Hotel location was excellent right on the beach. Shops and Restaurants are just a short distance away and there are plenty to choose from. Although the information on this Hotel advised there were local charges to pay, We did not expect the following. If you wanted Air conditioning in the room it was an extra €7.00 per Day, Fridge was and additional €19.00 per week, Room safe was and additional €15.00 per week, so if you wanted all the above it would an extra €160.00 for a 2 week stay. Not to mention €6.00 to hire sun loungers on the beach, more added costs. None of this is mentioned in the information on the Hotel apart from " Local Charges ". which could be an additional €250.00 to your 2 week holiday. We were half board, but I would recommend Bed & Breakfast as there are plenty of very good restaurants nearby and the food in the Hotel was very repetitive. It was buffet style and on some occasions it was just Luke warm. Apart from the above I would return to the Hotel on Bed & Breakfast basis now I know all the hidden costs and can allow for these. One other point, there are several rooms that face the road which can be very noisy.

I had hoped that the Zakantha Beach Hotel would have been able to accommodate my request for a sea view room but unfortunately all the rooms were booked out for both weeks we were there. The location is ideal as you literally walk down a set of stairs and you're on the beach. You have to pay for the sun beds but I don't have a problem with that. The beach is not part of the hotel after all. The wifi and choice of to channels are limited but you shouldn't be spending too much time in your room anyway. Breakfast was disappointing and we only went down three times in a fortnight. There are plenty of better options close by and all reasonably priced. The two best things about the hotel are the staff. Monica at the bar is an absolute start and is so welcoming and friendly. I never found out the name of the girl who worked in the snack bar but she was always smiling and helpful..

A nice friendly welcome on arrival,and was pleased to have a side sea view room.nice room although bath/shower was a bit tight for room. Fantastic location,nice surrounding areas and all the staff were very polite and welcoming. Pretty good breakfast too.

We had a wonderful stay at the Zakantha Beach Hotel. The staff are second to none. The reception team Hara and Nikki couldn't do enough to help us. Theodore, the chef, was helpful when dealing with my sons food allergy. The food was varied and very good. There was always an excellent selection at both breakfast and dinner. The beach is small but perfect for small children. This was our first overseas holiday as a family and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you to all the team at Zakantha Beach Hotel!

We enjoyed our stay: location was good; staff were very friendly; Marietta and colleague Robina (spelling?) in the snack bar most helpful, pleasant and friendly; rooms were cleaned daily; towels changed daily. We enjoyed the pool. Lovely to have the beach 50 yards from the hotel. Well worth paying the extra (in June) for air-con 7euro per day), the safe, and the fridge. However we did not like the fact that at 9.30 (pretty much on the dot) at the end of the advertised time for breakfast, the food was REMOVED!, and the coffee machine was turned off. In addition, we returned no less than THREE times to our room only to find the electrician there, fixing the air-con. It took him all week , apparently, to get it repaired. No permission sought, or advance warning of his arrival. Wi-fi erratic, and never available in the bedroom. Food only average, especially the evening meal, costing 15 euro pp per meal. For the same money we got much better quality food in nearby restaurants. Best for service, food quality and overall eating experience in our book was Peppermint (went there 4 times in the week). We found the bed on the hard side.

Unfortunately I travelled alone on this holiday, my partner was working away from home. When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by the most wonderful caring reception staff. I was their first customer of the year and apart from two other couples the hotel was empty. This could have been problematic if you were the type of person who needs other's for company. I enjoy my own company and was glad of the peace and quiet to be truthful. As I was the only tourist on a half board basis, the hotel management decided to send me to a wonderful restaurant only a short walk from the hotel. 'Peppermint' was one of the best places to eat in the area or possibly the whole island. The staff there showed me respect, kindness, and generosity beyond belief. The food was consistently excellent with a variety of choices. The prices were also very good if I wanted to try something different (bearing in mind I did not have to pay for the basic but nonetheless sumptuous meals). Breakfasts at the hotel were an informal self service affair with a very good choice of food which was well presented and delicious, Thanks to the lovely lady chef. The rooms at this hotel were fully equipped with everything the traveller could wish for, very clean and lovely little touches i.e. the maid folded my nightie up and laid this very creatively on my bed. Flat screened television with the BBC news channel. The view of the sea, Cephalonia and the Greek mainland were unsurpassed. Monica worked the late shift, she is a natural at bringing people together and is one of the best hosts I have ever observed. Then their was the wonderful Marietta and her sister who ran the snack bar. The list is endless and I apologise for not being able to remember the name of the manager and the new girl on reception, they all helped to make this one of the most memorable holidays I have had in some time, well done to you all, and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
