Baia Grande Hotel

The Hotel Baia Grande is a wonderful hotel with very good facilities. We did a Bed & Breakfast stay and the food was great with plenty of choices. The hotel is a little bit isolated, but runs a free bus to and from Algarve Old Town and also to one of the local beaches. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Its a nice hotel but needs a bit of TLC. Breakfast hall needs to be much larger and extended serving hours. Reception staff weren't very helpful with a noise issue above my room. Only one receptionist was able to provide a solution. Room wasnt made up everyday even though I put please make up room sign on the door. A pleasant stay but could be better.

Rooms where not cleaned all week. Only bins emptied and beds made on 5 out of the 7 days. Towels hard. Poor quality & small. Happy hour in the hotel was 18.30 - 20.30. One staff member on and took a lengthy time to get served by a staff member who was overworked and grumpy at times x

Did not appreciate at the time of booking just how remote this hotel is for guests with limited mobility/endurance. Really do need car hire for getting around thought the hotel shuttle works quite well but could do with an additional departure at say approx 1030am. Breakfasts were fine but evening meals were not particularly exciting and could do with a rethink. However, you won't go hungry. Room was spacious and, unusually in our experience for a Portuguese holiday hotel, had carpeted floor. However carpet was pretty dirty and badly marked, needed a good industrial clean or replacement.

Hotel was very good nice pool area surrounded by grass and shaded. Found drinks quite expensive. The area was remote only a two or three restaurants within walking distance. No shops to browse in, although the hotel ran a bus, it only seated 8 and last bus to alba feria was about 6.45 which you had to book in advance. Nice time there, but too remote to visit again without car. Not a family hotel, only pool for children they would struggle if older.

Just arrived home from a weeks stay in the Baia grande hotel. It's a bit out of the way so be prepared to travel into Albufeira. The hotel provides a free shuttle but the latest is 7pm so a taxi is needed to return. The pool area is lovely, the staff are friendly, the food and drinks were great. There is ano absolutely fantastic restaurant just down the road where we ate a couple of nights and the Coelho beach is a ten minute walk which is stunning. Overall one of the best holidays I've ever had.
