Mitsis Royal Mare

We really enjoyed our stay at the Aldemar Royal Mare. It is an excellent hotel set in a well designed, well kept site. The room was excellent and all the staff were very friendly & helpful. The pool is lovely and the beach is only a short distance away at the edge of the site.. Our meal in the Asian restaurant was a high spot.

The hotel was sited on a slope down to the sea with the entrance and reception at the top overlooking beautifully palm tree studded gardens, swimming pools and accommodation 'bungalows'. It was a really beautiful setting.Our room, which should have been a garden facing bungalow, was changed and we were put in a room with a sea view which was nice and quiet and comfortable. We were very happy with the room except for the air conditioning which seemed a bit ineffective but was just about adequate for October temperatures.On half-board we were limited to the main restaurant which was huge, had a big choice of very nice food and we enjoyed eating there. One small niggle is that the plates were not often very warm and by the time we had negotiated the buffet our food was only warm, not hot as we like it.We also thought drinks were expensive with a 330ml bottle of local beer at 4.5 euros and water not much cheaper.The beach had plenty of free sunbeds but the sand was very coarse and one really needed special swimming shoes to walk over stones into the water, but it was a nice place to spend time with a beach bar/restaurant and nice clean toilets.There was no entertainment in the hotel and Hersonnissos was a little too far to walk to in the dark evenings.Overall we enjoyed our stay there.

All staff were lovely especially Maria at the pool bar, she could not have done enough for us. What a lovely lady she made our holiday. Just make sure that you know where you can eat breakfast as on the second day we ate breakfast in the lunch restaurant near our room 811 as so near but we were told we were not allowed. Strange when we ate lunch there every day and the staff were lovely and helpful.

The hotel staff were really helpful and acted as if they really wanted us to like their hotel. Food was very good and a great choice. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others. Only down side was that the children's mini club was very poor.

Extremely disappointed - hotel did not live up to expectations created by description and other visitors' reviews. Food options limited and repetitive. Staff generally very good with the exception of hotel reception who were hostile to the point of rudeness. Doubtful I would visit again. My 7th holiday booked with Jet2 - most expensive and first time not satisfied.

This is a perfect resort for a relaxing and chill out holiday with some of the best staff we have ever experienced the pleasure of meeting. From reception to Minos bar to the restaurants to the pool, Calypso and beach bar they were all fantastic.

Not 5 star as stated,and certainly not Alinclusive which is what we upgraded to.First room more 3 star not 5 and not the room we upgraded to at an extra cost. Arrived about 10 pm no hot food for us was told after asking there had put food in fridge 2 plates of stale sandwiches,was informed we had been given a complimentary bottle of water and wine, funny that had upgraded to AI ,no mini bar in room and no access to Alacarte restaurant which we have always had in other 5 star hotels.The grounds and pool areas are lovely and our concerns were dealt with quickly.Staff on duty in breakfast and evening meal restaurant were very busy as not enough of them, had a 10 minuet wait for drinks one morning my husband had to lay our table before we could eat,this could be a good hotel if they could iron out some of the issues,but not 5 star resort .

The staff are very helpful & courteous. Nothing is too much trouble. They do anything to help. The food in the restaurants is very tasty & plentiful. The barbecue in El Greco is the best I have ever seen I have a mobility problem --you can get taken round the site by golf buggy upon request. There are a lot of slopes that can be difficult for decrepit old man like me ,but the "taxi" service is very helpful. The hotel has 29 pools--3 large ones & 26 outside a lot of the small blocks of rooms. Our pool had stairs down into it so it was easy for me to get in & out. Jet2 Indulgent holiday was the bees knees.. I can recommend this place

Nice hotel, lovely helpful staff in every area of the hotel, excellent service, the only thing they need to review is the food was always lukewarm in the main restaurants for all inclusive, however the food was much better in the paid restaurants, other than that we had a nice time
