Sonia Resort

We booked this hotel because we wanted to chill out and do nothing for a week and it fit the bill perfectly in that respect. We were aware that there was nothing within the vicinity outside the hotel so decided to go AI. The food was average, plenty of variety if you’re not fussy (which I am) but it was repetitive. The staff in the restaurant were so nice and worked incredibly hard but I have to make one exception and not include the restaurant manager in this who was rude, unfriendly and awful to his staff. Quite upsetting to watch at times. The pool area is really nice and the pool itself doesn’t open until 10am so there wasn’t much sunbed hogging going on. We always managed to get a sunbed but then we don’t get up late. There are snacks at the pool bar which usually consisted of sandwiches, wraps, pastries and cake, all of which were delicious. My only gripe with the pool bar was that you couldn’t get bottled water and whatever is was that they served was vile. Could possibly be local Water. The entertainment team based themselves around the pool and when they started we literally had to leave until they’d gone. The music was so loud it was unbearable, it isn’t a big pool so completely unnecessary. Turn it down! Our room was lovely, really modern and fresh. It was perfect for just the two of us but certainly on the small side if we’d been sharing with kids. The bed was a regular double so my husband ended up on the sofa bed, two adults in a double bed during a heatwave isn’t my idea of fun. There’s a lack of storage as well, just one drawer in a dressing tables and minimal hanging; ladies beware - no long hanging in the wardrobe. We ventured down to the beach a couple of times and it’s so peaceful down there compared to the pool area. If you do prefer the beach then it might be a good idea to take something to wear on your feet to go into the seagoing into the sea because it’s mainly pebble. I had a deep tissue massage in the spa which was amazing and worth every penny. Would definitely recommend. All in all a hotel with pro’s and con’s but nothing major and for what we paid, we can’t complain. Not sure that we’d go back but never say never.

This was my 1st solo trip and the hotel did not disappoint. Beautiful location, quiet and friendly. In particular the reception staff were lovely and accommodating as were those in the restaurant, especially Mari. The room was huge, much larger than average and incredibly clean. Food was plentiful and a great variety. The only tiny faults were a lack of english TV channels which wasn't an issue until we lost wifi in a storm and that no one told me I could have free bottled water as I was all inclusive so I was buying it in the store. Minor things that in no way dampened a wonderful week away. Never felt so relaxed.

We stayed at Sonia Hotel in August with our teenage daughter. The hotel is nice, placed in a nice olive tree garden, couple of minutes to the beach, on a slope. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Size was on a small side for a suit. I was worried when i saw that my room entrance overlooked the bins area. Food was nice but drinks were an issue due to the lack of understanding of all inclusive. Long waiting time between drinks due to a table service was frustrating. The afternoon snack bar poor and not designed for people with special diatary issues (was pizza and cake, cery small quantity for the number of guests). The fact that no water was provided in the room was a surprise, especially that no shop in the vicinity. We adventured in a camping area to buy water and ouzo to top up the drinks. Nice touch is the all inclusive beach bar. The walking path needs reviewing as is dangerously uneven and with no grip. The views from the restaurant and bar stunning.

Lovely clean hotel. Arrived very late really looked after bottle of wine and sandwiches in fridge. Resort quite hilly our room on far edge so quite a struggle walking from beach to room. Staff excellent, food good, room lovely brilliant sea view, Hotel generally beautifully clean . Bed so so comfortable Evening entertainment very lacking only one night of Greek dancing, You need a car to explore further as no public transport or taxis.
