Sample the cuisine
Fish and seafood are big around these parts and when it’s caught fresh that day and served in the seafront tavernas, it would be silly to miss out on trying it. Alongside seafood, keep an eye out for local specialities such as ladotyri cheese, which is produced on Lesvos, and a glass of the island's famous ouzo. Those with a sweet tooth should also try vrasma, a traditional syrup made from figs that's unique to the area.
