Keys facts about Perivolos
Volcanic wonders
Along with the smooth sands of the main beach and its copper-coloured cliffs, Perivolos is placed near to several more volcanic wonders. One of the best is Akrotiri, just 8km west of Perivolos. This ancient settlement was submerged in volcanic ash, meaning its stone structures and ceramics have been very well preserved.
Discover Fira
Santorini is an easily explored island and the capital, Fira, is only 9km away. It’s well worth making the 20-minute drive there, as you’ll discover a thriving city filled with museums, bars and restaurants. Visit wineries and art galleries and stay until evening to be stunned by the amber sunset fading into the sea.
