Hotel Caravel Rome

The hotel was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help/provide information for anything I needed to ask. I was very grateful that the staff had taken the time to learn English so well as my Itallian is terrible. It made the trip stress free! On the first day, we struggled with piblic transport into the centre. There is a bus stop outside but you need to have prebought a ticket or risk getting fined. We did locate the metro service about 15/20 min walk, which was much easier that the bus service! The brealfast is standard, nothing I would class as amazing. The same every morning.

The hotel was perfectly acceptable but not a five star as they said. The tourist tax was 6 Euros each per night! The accommodation and location lends itself to the Corporate clientele rather than tourists. The staff were friendly and helpful but didn't seem very knowledgeable regarding getting around etc. The hotel is a good 45 minute walk into the City so wear comfy shoes! Breakfast was fine but no variations at all each day. This is fine for a few nights but I would prefer to be a bit closer to the City if I were staying longer. There is a bus service but you need to pre-purchase the tickets from a shop/outlet before boarding so unless you know what to do and where to go this can be a slight problem. The hotel staff were not very knowledgeable so we just had to try and work it out for ourselves. There were some shops and bars a couple of streets behind the hotel if you knew where to look! There is a Pizzeria next to the hotel but the menu is OK for one night. There is also a small bar which opened one night then not the next!

The only reason I haven't given this hotel 5 stars is due to the location. It is about 3 miles out of the city centre but that means you have additional considerations to make about getting in and out of the city. It is 15 min walk from the metro which after a hard day sightseeing you could do without. Other than that it is a really great hotel with lovely comfortable bed and great breakfast. Having said that I knew that when I booked and that is also probably reflected in the price. If I went back to Rome I probably would choose something more central but that shouldn't put you off booking. The rooms are great, lovely big comfortable bed and fab shower, sound proofing means undisturbed nights sleep

We stayed here in April 2017 for a week. The hotel was constantly clean, the staff were lovely and the food were brilliant. Very close to the metro station and as it was so cheap to use the metro for the week it were perfect for getting around. Very highly recommend

Great hotel, comfortable room which has clearly been refurbished recently. Excellent facilities - hairdryer in bathroom, room service and the evening restaurant is a gorgeous, romantic setting with excellent quality food (comparable with local prices). Not in the centre of Rome but I liked this as it is away from the hustle and bustle. Easy access to city by taxi or local bus. Staff were so friendly and approachable. Also, best night's sleep ever - mattress was unbelievable. Just an incredible hotel with great facilities and staff

Very good location, two stops from city. In a nice neighbourhood with restaurants and shops available round the corner. Breakfast is good , continental style. Reception staff and housekeeping are brilliant, nothing a problem for any of them. Room was good with large bed, tv all usual but high standard. Would recommend this hotel to all.

We were expecting just a simple 3 star hotel but we got so much more! Beautiful view of the hills, great breakfast and a quiet room, perfect! A 2-3 minute walk from shops, pizzerias and Gelatarias which had beautiful products at a great price and it was only a 10 minute walk from a major train and metro station.

Absolutely fantastic could not have had a better place to stay the room the appearance everything was outstanding the staff the restaurant brilliant the breakfast covered all purposes and everything was fresh

This hotel is first class, perfectly situated and central. The hotel is clean throughout, beds are changed daily as was the lovely white fluffy towels. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was continental with a good choice of foods to meet all tasted.

Hotel was clean and stylish. Good amount of detail used in a small space. Only downsides were that there was no balcony or outside seating area and no bath in the bathroom although shower was amazing so made up for it. We choose the half board option. Breakfast was great but evening meals were from a limited set menu which got a bit boring after a few days so eat out a few times for variety. All the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Overall a good experience.

The service was extremely professional. The hotel was modern and spotlessly clean. The bed was big - bigger than king size anyway -and really comfortable..The dining area was exceptional - lots of staff on duty- loads to choose from . Unfortunately the downmarket location did not do such a high quality hotel the justice it deserved..However, the buses into Rome were very regular - even on Sundays, so it wasn't a big problem.Although it was a 20 minute ride, the Roma pass made it very affordable to use public transport multiple times throughout the day.

Hotel was clean and comfortable staff were friendly approachable and helpful. Walking distance to metro and bus stop. Close to local shops restraints and cafes .approx 20 euros taxi from centre of Rome
