Marcella Royal Hotel Rooftop Garden

Attentive, friendly, value for money. Couldn't fault the hotel. Rooms had everything we needed, generous complimentary items. Terrace was gorgeous, lively views, relaxing space. Meals very good prices and the food was delicious

Great location not too central so you can get an idea of the real city not just the tourist areas. Rooftop bar is a great addition Staff very friendly and helpful We did have a slight issue when booking an airport transfer so please be careful and the bathrooms do require some tlc but would 100% go back

This is a great hotel and the staff could not do enough for us. Great position for going into the city. Breakfast on the terrace is a great way to start the day with a great selection to choose from. Probably the best gelato in Rome is available just around the corner. There was a queue out the door for gelato at 10:30pm. 70 flavours just amazing.

My son and I stYed here in August 2017. I hadn't heard of it, but went off reviews. It was a beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The roof terrace was a lovely place to rewind with a cold drink after a full day of sightseeing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed in this lovely city for 6 days in the Marcella Royal hotel. The hotel was fantastic. Cleanliness was great. The economy room although just a tad small was entirely adequate for our needs and was very clean. New linen and towels regulary changed. The hotel has the feel of a family hotel and indeed the owner who although is 91 years of age still makes sure that everything is in order! The reception staff during our stay were Fabulous. They were very helpful and seemed happy in their work making sure that we were looked after even down to helping me with my pigeon Italian and teaching me the correct way to say things! Great fun. The staff on the rooftop bar area were also really friendly, courteous and very helpful. The location was great and maps are provided on reception to get you around the city and the staff are very knowledgeable about Rome and will give you tips if you ask. There are lots of decent restaurants within a few mins walk from the hotel. A special mention must go to the rooftop bar entertainer Mauro the 'maestro' who kept us entertained night after night with fantastic music. He is a very talented musician, a nice bloke and a great attribute to the hotel who loves to get people dancing. Don't miss him! We really loved this hotel as you can see from this review and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who is thinking of staying in Rome. Arrivederci!!

Marbella Royal is a lovely little hotel in a quiet area of Rome not too far from the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. The staff are very helpful and welcoming and the roof top breakfast and bar area are a great asset,mother serve nice pizzas. There are some excellent restaurants around the hotel so you don't need to go far to get a nice meal.

This was our first visit to the hotel and the first time we had stayed in Rome after visiting the city some years ago on a day trip. The hotel was immaculate as were the rooms which were well equipped with a mini bar and safe. Breakfast was ample with a good variety of choice. The bonus was to be able to sit on the roof in the sunshine overlooking Rome whilst eating it. The staff could not have been any more helpful, they were amazing. They took a genuine interest in you and what you wanted out of your holiday and were only too happy to provide you with advice as to where to visit and eat. Take their advice as the restaurants which were recommended were fantastic! Salvatore the barman was also extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for you. We would go back tomorrow if we could. As far as the location is concerned don't be put off, in my opinion it was ideal, you are in walking distance of everything. We will be back.

great hotel had issue with room first off, complained at desk & sorted straight away offered new room that was lovely. staff very friendly nothing was a problem, roof top bar and breakfast room had great veiws.

Hotel was excellent. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. The roof terrace was a great place to relax after a days sightseeing. Staff were friendly and very helpful. It is around 15 minute walk to Colesseum. And Trevii Fountain but this was not a problem for us as we like to walk. Felt we have chosen well.

Great hotel, our room was very clean and modern. Staff very friendly, rooftop terrace great place to breakfast or just relax after a busy day. Walking distance of central Rome.and very handy for Villa Guillia

The hotel is located 30 minutes walk away from the best attractions but there are some nice restaurants nearby. The hotel has a grand entrance and the rooms were small but clean (I suppose space is a premium in Rome). Bathroom was modern however the shower cubicle was rather small / tight fit (from the pictures other rooms had larger shower cubicles). There always seems to be a lack of hangers in the wardrobes everywhere I go. 6 hangers between 2 people for 4 days, very annoying! They are not expensive. The staff at reception/bar were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English and kindly reserved tables at the local restaurants for us. The rooftop terrace has good views across the top of the city, which is lit up at night and the mountains in the distance. For breakfast there was a good choice of continental, cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurts. We only had pizza in the hotel restaurant which was very nice. Drinks were expensive, liqueur coffee 10 euros, glass prosecco 8 euros (4-6 euros at other venues). Overall a lovely hotel but be prepared for a good walk to the best attractions.

We spent a wonderful few days here. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful, the room was spacious - especially for Rome, and the bathroom modern. The room was cleaned and the bedding changed daily. We have stayed in this area of Rome on previous visits and find it perfect as it is only a half hour walk to Centro Storico, but very quiet, especially at night. There are plenty of great restaurants locally if you don't want to go further afield and the staff gave us great recommendations. Carusos ice cream cannot be beaten!!!! We would not hesitate to return to this hotel.
