Hotel La Barracuda

Stayed here for 10 days at end of February 2022. Hotel room was clean but old and the bathroom was out of the 1960's. We opted for half board and whilst the breakfasts were ok, the dinners were a total disgrace - poor quality, limied range and cool hot meals. We would not stay there again, there are much better hotels in the vicinity.

The hotel is lovely, not too big and all set round the pool. The staff are very friendly, food and drinks ok and fairly cheap at the pool bar. Beer is only 2 euros a pint. The only snag is that it is on a steep hill, but hey, at least I didn't put weight on with all the exercise. Also the beds are super comfy!

We loved this hotel so much we have booked to go again next April. It's in a great location on the beach front and the view from our balcony was lovely, overlooking the pool and the lighthouse at Benalmadena which is a 5-10 minute walk away. The staff were very accommodating and friendly especially the restaurant manager. We stayed half board and found the food to be very nice and with such a large variety there is something for everyone. The pool side bar entertainment was good and the alcohol cheap! Especially at happy hour! Only negative was the policy to hire a hairdryer, kettle and AC remote.

Stayed for Christmas, hotel room nice, bed comfortable and clean and in a really good location. The downsides to the holiday were: the cold room, being on the 10th floor the central heating pressure wouldn't reach the top floor, this was sorted when we hired the remote for the air conditioning unit which we found out was a heater also; food was cold, no adult cereals (porridge, bran etc) except muesli, which was made up of old cheap corn flakes and rice crispies ,I don't eat a cooked breakfast, however, my husband does and he didn't rate it, also cold; the entertainment was held in the pool bar and although enclosed in glass panels it was freezing and draughty. We didn't stay in for Christmas dinner as the menu didn't suit us, and I am so glad we decided to go out as the entrance was full of people, queuing for tickets so they could queue for their dinner. Had a really good holiday but spent very little time in the hotel.

Some bad reviews of this hotel made me worried but everything was ok we were upgraded to a front facing sea view room which was great. The reception is a bit dated but the rooms were clean and looked like they had started to refurbish the hotel a bit with new painted corridors and new keycard doors on all rooms . only stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast was ok no fresh fruit but there was allways something to satisfy my appetite . The best bit about the hotel was that it's 10 meters from the beach.
