Alua Calas de Mallorca Resort

We arrived to the hotel around 12am and checked in, we asked the receptionist where to get something to eat and he said the next hotel (there’s 2 hotels together) We went to the other hotel and said the buffet was closed, we had to get snacks and drinks out of a vending machine. The beds were dirty, i found multiple hairs and blood on my sheets. People were reserving sun beds around 6:30, we went down for breakfast around 8:30 and reserved our sun beds near the smaller pool, you can almost guarantee some around there. The breakfast buffet was okay i’d say, not much to choose from, we got back to our room to get ready for the pool and i realised how dirty the floor was when i kept feeling grits of dirty on my feet and saw my feet was almost black after 5 minutes of walking around the room. Near the smaller pool the grass was very uneven and not cared for. At the front of the hotel two men were shouting and we realised a man came into the hotel and went around the pool stealing peoples things (he didn’t have a wristband on) and this made us worry about what to do with our belongings when we wanted to swim in the pool. The dinner wasn’t great really, the food was cold and most of the things were unlabelled, the choices are very repetitive and isn’t great for a picky eater like myself, however the desserts were delicious but unfortunately melted, we got half board and didn’t know the fizzy drinks weren’t included in that and only water is. The next day we headed out to the beach and when we got back only one of the beds had been cleaned and the other hadn’t, the toilet brush was dirty with bits of poo on it, there were marks all over the walls, the curtains had markings on, the vent has mold on, the shower head had limescale on, entertainment only lasts an hour. The lift is so dodgy, it’s probably safe but it’s always creaking, you can hear metal clanging, it wobbles and the door doesn’t shut properly. The views are incredible, we was on the 5th floor and it was great, was always so lovely to go out on the balcony, the beach which is a 15 minute walk is amazing, the water is clear and warm. The tv has uk channels which is good. Overall i don’t think i’d be staying here again, we got locked in the baggage room for around 20 minutes and wasn’t able to call the hotel to let us out.

We went to this hotel for 10 days. It was definitely not a 4star hotel,a 2star at best. The food in the restaurant was always cold and undercooked,people were using the microwaves in there to warm up their meals. There was not much choice and lots of flies. The burgers in the snack bar were cooked to order which meant at least they were hot and cooked,but the filled rolls were dry and not wrapped so again lots of flies. The rooms very nice and spacious but they weren’t cleaned very well for the 10 days the floor was not swept and no clean bedding at all, unlike all other 4 star hotels that we have been to.You are told to leave towels on the bathroom floor if you want clean ones which we did but no clean ones left and a bit of a job to get them replaced. There is 2 lifts in the hotel for guests and a small one behind them for staff,one lift broke down the second day we were there so only the lift to cover the 9 floors and that took an age to come.On the 3rd day the second lift broke down so we’re told to use the small one until the lifts were fixed very long queues and it could only take 3 people. One of the lifts got fixed that day but the second lift was not working for the rest of the holiday. The hotel could do with decorating and some of the decking around the pool looking at because of loose screws sticking up and parts of it sinking. The views from this hotel are lovely. Definitely wouldn’t go back again.

Not long returned after a week at this lovely hotel. It is in a very peaceful location with the commercial centre a 10 minutes walk We were a bit disappointed to be given a 3rd floor room in the Mirador block when we arrived as we wanted to be on a high floor. The manager said he would be able to accommodate us the next morning and to come back to reception then but after seeing our spacious room and the fantastic view we didn’t want to move.The bathroom was great with a huge shower that was to die for and a large vanity unit which easily stored all your toiletries. The room has a mini fridge to keep your drinks cold and there is a hairdryer in the bathroom. It was cleaned every day and bedding and towels changed when you wanted. Bring your own travel kettle as no coffee facilities in the room but you know this before arriving as it is not listed .The food was good with lots of choice and the restaurant was very clean. The only thing that would improve it would be to have the food labelled so you knew what it was . At the main reception block all the food had name labels. The terraces are kept immaculate and have lovely comfy chairs for enjoying the view whilst having a drink. There was live entertainment every evening with a snack bar open. The staff are very hard working and friendly and keep the place immaculate. We would definitely return here for a quiet chilled out holiday with great views from your balcony

Nice hotel but unfortunately I had 2 pairs of jeans stolen from my room. Only noticed when I got home co reacted the hotel and they said nothing had been handed in. Suitcase had a padlock on it throughout the journey home

This hotel is lovely, very relaxing & has beautiful views. All rooms have a sea view (so dont be fooled into paying extra for that, I believe some people did) However if you want a hotel on the beach & like to walk down a prom this hotel isnt for you as its high up. There are beaches close by but one is quite small & its a steep climb up unless you get the little train (which you pay for) The food was lovely with lots of options & the dining room is one of the nicest I have been in. Plenty of sun loungers & surrounding pool area. The only slight disappointment is we like to join in with 'fun' activities like darts, boules & this hotel only offers sporting activities. Having just had a refurb the bedroom/bathrooms & lobby areas were lovely very modern & clean. Would recommend because the hotel setting & views are beautiful.
