Golden Star Beach

Lovely hotel and staff. Very clean and tidy, in a great position near the heart of Protaras and directly on the beach. Rooms were comfortable and well equipped although, could do with modernising. The hotel would benefit from a bar that opened later. Had a fabulous holiday!

It was a well placed hotel, clean and for the price the rooms were great, my only complaint really was the unnecessary, cleaning, I mean it was lovely but there was no way of letting cleaners know that you didn't require cleaning every day, so every day the sheets where changed and so were the towels and shower curtain, really more a eco thing to do would be to have some system to request cleaning and a way to communicate that you don't need to change the beds, towels, shower curtain every day, though it was lovely but wasteful. Also the bins didn't require emptying every day. It would be great if there was some sort of package you to pay for to have teatowles, washing up liquid and a cloth for the kitchen, maybe milk/coffee/tea or something for breakfast the following day, if you are arriving for your first night in the hotel after everything is closed? An actual oven would be a nice touch also but we managed without. I know this was not included in the description but so were a lot of items not included in the description, so there was adequate crockery, cutlery and glassware and even a coffee machine. Beds were very comfortable. Sheets were a great quality and only having the one air con unit in the bedroom was fine. Room safe was £20.00 A second key was available on request Easy waling distance to the see front, or shops, local supermarket in the front of the hotel was fine. Good selection of places to eat just a shame that there was no Bouzouikia club nearby to get that traditional 'Greek' night or if there was the rep didn't know anything about it. There was a good mix of holiday makers some local. The pools was shallow but adequate to swim in and therefore safe for children, a pool table, some arcade games and a air hockey table available under the hotel for guests to play on but have your 2Euro pieces to hand. The sea was clear and sand clean, two loungers and an umbrella were 7.00 euro's for whatever time you wanted. Lifeguard stations, showers for cleaning the sand off or cooling down and a good smattering of ice cream stands, charcoal corn on the cob and places to get drinks. Good boardwalk to walk along day or night, well lit and again clean. The sand gets very hot, so beach shoes or something is a must.

Stayed here in June for 1 week, staff was helpful and polite, swimming pools and beds were really lovley and cleaned at night ,very clean rooms and close to shops and restaurants 5 minutes walk. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, lovely friendly staff. Asked to view superior rooms as booking for our honeymoon in August/September. Staff were only too happy to help. Great pool areas with plenty of beds and space. Literally 3 minute walk to the strip for restaurants and entertainment. 1 minute walk to gorgeous beach. Rooms were clean and well equipped. No complaints. Just 1 recommendation, provide welcome pack for late arrivals. We were delayed so didn’t arrive at the hotel until 01.30. No facility to get drink or food. Welcome pack would be a fantastic addition to this lovely hotel.

After a long day of travelling and arriving very late with 2 young children we find mould outside our room. The room door would not lock , hairs in the bath and pink around the sink also the toilet is so small you have the toilet roll on your lap. Hoping to get a good nights sleep we find blood on the sheets so end up sleeping on top of the beds Which were the most uncomfortable beds in the world. There is no air con on in the main hotel so very hot , hairs and dirt on stairs and old carpet in main hall ways. Only positive things is the pools were clean and the location was great right next to the beach and main strip, so staying out of the hotel as much as possible was easy.

Great location but rooms on the ground floor not like the pictures in the brochure. Did ask for another room but told hotel was full. No bar inside the hotel itself just across the road for the bar No atmosphere around the pool bar and flat beer Only thing going for hotel is location ( but won’t be going back)

Fabulous holiday in fab hotel, fantastic rooms with very comfy beds. The hotel is in a fantastic spot near to everything. We stayed half board. The breakfast was fab with everything and more than you could want the evening meal was nice enough,plenty of options for everyone and I liked that it was buffet style. We loved it and we will be back

Lovely hotel directly on the beach. Great pools always clean and maintained. Lots of sun beds. And a pool bar. We had a superior room which suited our needs air con in bedroom free. Had to pay for it in the lounge but dont need it. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower. My only issue was the shower screen and seals around we dirty and never clean the dirt had been there a good few weeks. Other than that fab room. Kitchen had 2 ring hot plate lots of kitchen equipment all we need.

This hotel is beautifully placed at the far end of Protaras right on the beach. The standard rooms are clean and spacious. We had a ground floor room which wasn't ideal but we were only there for 3 nights so we put up with it. The bathroom was a WET room and it was hopeless trying to shower as the water would seep onto the main apartment floor so that was a bit of a nightmare. The bed linen was spotless but the towels were not brilliant and were in need of being renewed. We had no view to speak of as we were on the ground floor so we didn't spend a lot of time on the balcony. On the plus side the swimming pool and area around it was excellent. There were plenty of sunbeds and we never saw the usual towel brigade out early. The pool bar was excellent and served great snacks at reasonable prices. The restaurant served fabulous food with a beautiful view over the sea. I would return here but only if I booked a superior apartment on 5th floor as these were beautiful and fully refurbished.

Wonderful 7 days at this hotel. Staff, Room, Location everything excellent. We were on a B & B basis and the breakfast was really good. However, if you were SC the kitchen had, kettle, toaster, hob, and microwave. No actual oven though.
