Apollon Apartments.

Great holiday, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and bright, Great atmosphere, met some lovely people , would recommend this hotel to anyone. It has a lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds.

This hotel is excellent in every way. Every where is spotlessly clean. Very pleasant and efficient staff. The room and beds very comfortable and everything you need for bed and breakfast. The bathroom was the first time in many years of going abroad that was spotlessly clean first class.

Although the room and hotel were both clean and tidy with room cleaned and towels changed every two days. Kitchen and equipment was quite poor. No oven only a two ring hob. No toaster two pans no cheese grater. No mixing bowl no scissors no jug.

This hotel accommodation was very satisfactory. The rooms were good and had plenty of space. The pool was a nice size but was cold when we went in September. The staff at the pool bar were very helpful and had a good range of meals. As we arrived late at night the staff had left us a food package which was helpful.

Returned to the Apollon hotel with family again Great journey and excellent room newly updated with new bathroom Ideal location for a relaxing holiday and ideal for walking into the mountains Great restaurant nearby we will be returning

The studio we had at the Apollon apartments was nice and spacious with everything you needed for a fairly priced summer holiday. It was reasonably basic as are many of the smaller accommodations on any greek island, we've done a few, but if you are looking for somewhere to stay within easy reach of everything, with a friendly and helpful team, a nice pool area and bar then the Apollon ticks all the boxes. The bathroom is small but the shower head had a hook on the wall so none of the one handed showering maliarky, although the shower was a bit of a dribble, but if it had been powerful then the bathroom would have flooded. The size of the rest of the studio more than made up for the tiny bathroom - and personally I'd rather had a decent sized sleeping and living area than a large bathroom. Air con was extra - 6 euros a night - only thing is the electrics are operated by a magnet on the keys so you have to get a bit crafty if like us you wanted to cool the room down ready for when you came in. Easy walk to and from the main area of bars, restaurants and the beach and also very simple to get the bus into Rethymon, get your tickets from the reception they run about every half hour but can get very overcrowded however a taxi is only 8 euros if you don't fancy the sardine can. I think its a lovely part of Crete and lots of nice places to visit near by - Lake Kournas is beautiful, and hiring a car is a quick and easy way to get a little further afield. I would certainly go back to Rethymon and the Apollon hotel apartments.

We returned to the Apollon because we had such a good time 3 years ago . All the staff go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. Location may not suit all as 10-15 min walk to main centre but there are 2 excellent tavernas nearby . Our favourite taverna was Kellara but all restaurants served good food at reasonable prices. Must visit places are Gram Vosa -suggest catch boat as 7km dirt track followed by loads of steep steps not for the feint hearted but well worth it ,Elafonissi- the most beautiful beach ever, Kournas lake go on pedalo to see turtles and huge fish, On the beach sun beds are only 5 euros but get some shoes if going in sea as very stony getting in. A lovely area to visit and we will return at some point for more drinks in the bar with Jack
