Matina Aparthotel Pefkos

I booked the holiday late and it probably would not have been my first choice if more had been available. I need not have worried because this was a very nice place in very good location. We found the room comfortable and was sufficiently equipped. I went here with my 13 year old son. The place was perfect for what we wanted. There is a good sized supermarket on the edge of the site with an entrance from the complex main pool area. It has a bar that serves a good range of nice food from early until late. It also has a more formal restaurant which is open in the evenings. There is a good range of other food and bars in the area. The area gets busier and livelier as you take the 5 minute walk up hill. Downhill is a great beach which offers entertaining snorkelling in a rocky central area of the beach - even the youngest can see plenty in the shallow areas. It was my 13 year old boys first experience of quality snorkelling - in his words "amazing". The area the apartments are situated is in the quiet area at night, away from the buzz up the road.

1st Class place for a relaxing holiday - This was our 5th time. Pool area / Rooms & supermarket great Excellent food in restaurant & round the pool All the staff couldn't do enough for us. Excellent value I'd recommend this holiday to anyone.

We stayed at Matina in April. Unfortunately when we booked we weren't made aware that the resort wouldn't open until the beginning of May, so we were restricted for things to do and places to eat. Not the fault of Matina, but of Jet2. The apartment was spacious and clean. Unfortunately we had a family above us so there was a lot of noise from the children running around and the furniture being constantly moved. The onsite snack bar and restaurant were clean and the food lovely, although each meal in the restaurant could have been warmer. This was fine for a quiet break but I wouldn't want to be in such a massive complex in full season when it must be packed. Great for children but as a couple we would want somewhere quieter.

Very friendly, helpful and fun loving staff. Two really good clean swimming pools. The food is good and the rooms are adequate and cleaned every day. Beautiful location surrounded by mountains with lovely beach. There are lots of shops, bars and restaurants, also only a short distance from beautiful Lindos.

Everything about the Matina is great. Fabulous location, literally 50m to the beach. Big clean rooms whether studio or apartments. All with private balcony. Lots of choice for eating too. Supermarket on site which can deliver shopping to your room before you arrive. Great idea especially if you have a late flight. Fabulous choice of fresh food, either from the pool bars all day and at night in Meltemi restaurant. And best of all are the staff. All of them friendly, caring helpful people who literally cannot do enough to make your stay a real treat. We keep going back....just like going home. And Pefkos itself is a gem of a place. Once visited you will return, bitten by the Pefkos Bug.

Would have given it five stars but for the broken fridge more 4.8 out of 5 great staff. Very helpful . Would not hesitate to recommend to others. Restaurants in the area all excellent. Good bus and taxi service.

The complex has two large pools plenty of sunbeds and only 20 metres from the beach.thereare plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance,there is a church on the top of the which is worth a visit but is only suitable for fairly fit people as it is quite a walk up to it,but the views from the top are worth it.
