Pins Platja Apartments

We have been coming to these apartments for a few years now, and the staff are fantastic, but the apartments are becoming tired. They have made changes but to slow and far between the bathrooms have never changed. So I think they need a really good revamp and spend more money to entice new customers and a younger generation.

The state our apartment was in upon arrive was very poor also it’s not equipped for self catering at all, with one tiny hob. The rep did help us get new bedding but unfortunately the apartments where to busy to move our room. The beds where horrendous and inadequate. It was supposed to sleep 6 people but one was like a camp bed and another was a sofa which was dirty which we didn’t even have bedding for. The shower went cold after a few showers so not idea for 6 people. We arrived at 10am dropped off 5 minutes walk away from the hotel to then be told we couldn’t check in until 3pm. We had 12 suitcases/handluggage and 4 children who’s swimming costumes and suncream where packed as we wasn’t aware we wouldn’t get into our room on arrival. We felt unsafe leaving all our bags with valuables in the open room which was accessible to everyone passing and also in a place we didn’t know. The rest of the holiday was lovely but the apartment was a massive let down and we spent more on food than planned eating out as the apartment was inadequate for self catering. The bathroom leaked, the shower was broken and the block was extremely noisy which meant some nights we where awake until 3am as people above us where fighting, shouting, singing and causing problems. I did make reception aware but the man didn’t understand English on the phone so I messaged on their Facebook page. The actual location and pool was nice, right on the beach. Nice restaurants near by it was just the apartments that let it down. Make sure you take ample suncream as it’s a rip off, any products tourists need from the local supermarket is very over priced. As is the shop which sells inflatables across the road with a very pushy sales man who makes you feel intimidated.

On arrival to the hotel early evening, we were not booked in. The people behind the desk got into a flap finding us a room. Gave us a key card only to find it occupied. Back to the desk and finally given an empty room. Emailed Jet2 once in room. Still no reply over a month later about this. My youngest daughter concerned people could get in our room.

This hotel was totally fine great for children families not for groups girls or lads bit quiet around hotel. You can go to cambrils or Salou you are about in the middle of both. Need to buy bus card then trips are just over a Euro rather than two euros or four euros if you buy on the bus. Hotel have restaurants right opposite and a bakery and supermarket attached to it. Rooms were fine all things you need fridge freezer hob no oven and various plates cups etc. There is air conditioning in rooms and the facilities were very clean pool especially. Bit sloppy round the pool when wet and there’s a train that runs by the side of the hotel which runs through the day and night but to be honest I’m not getting up for work so who cares didn’t bother us one bit made a joke of it and shouted train when we heard it coming !

Clean,spacious,friendly,helpful staff.near all amenities that you could need and two minute walk to beach in a perfect setting to access Cambrils and Salou by means of the excellent local bus service or beach/footpath with numerous watering holes along the way to slake your thirst.

We were lucky to be granted a sea view room which was ok and done the job. It is a quiet place ideal for non thrill seekers. Plenty of eating places/bars within a small area.The beach is very easy access and litter free! Safe for the small ones to play.No hotel entertainment so be prepared for some bus rides and make your own amusements. Nice place but would not return

Nice hotel and great pool but feel let down a bit by Jet2 for not being transparent. I traveled with young family and when we arrived at the hotel we were told that our apartment was across the road in block 6. We had to cross a busy main road between Salou and Cambrills with traffic nearly knocking us down and then battle our way through a noisy bar/restaurant to get to our apartment. I contacted hotel staff and Jet2 I was informed that the one bedroom apartments were all across the Main Road. The other 4 blocks by the pool were 2 bedroom apartments and that there was no availability for our first 2 nights we could pay £200 for the rest of our holiday. I explained to Jet2 that this should have been clearly stated at time of booking. With a young family the pool was an important part of our holiday but I felt we were running the gauntlet across this busy road to get back and forth from the hotel. Location, facilities all good just bear the above in mind when booking if you like to be by the pool. Don't rely too heavily on Jet2. The Hotel Best Cambrills is 200 yards up the street and is much superior in offering.

We arrived at the hotel at around 8.30 p.m. having booked a 2 Bedroom Apartment and requested a quiet location. We were given the keys to a room in Block 6 - the room overlooked an adjacent hotel which displayed a stagnant empty swimming pool and the railway line was about 20 meters away. We immediately went down to the reception and told them we were prepared to sacrifice the two bedroom apartment for an apartment in a better location. The receptionist was extremely helpful and allocated us another apartment in Block 2 which had the added bonus of a side sea view. We had booked half board and as is the case with most hotels, the buffet breakfast and evening meal were tepid but adequate. The apartments are in need of a little tlc (grouting around the bath grubby and signs of rust on the bath itself) but overall acceptable. Location is quite good as there is an excellent bus service to both Cambrils and Salou costing just 2 euros per person and run very frequently. Visit the old town in Cambrils on market day and explore the quaint cobbled streets. We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and we must add that the staff we met were excellent.
