Son Caliu Resort and Spa Hotel

We stayed at the hotel in August so it was very warm weather. the hotel is very bright and modern with great furnishings. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the food is to die for. We would love to go back

We were family of six adults and two babies. Hotel was immaculately clean. Great food. Great staff, they couldn't do enough for our babies. One or two minor issues, the cot had no mattress and was made up of blankets only when we said the child could not sleep on a board. Lack of privacy in the shower area which did have a roll down blind still see through ok for me but wouldn't suit everyone. The pool outside was freezing and nobody was in it, definitely a big no for our kids. These are minor issues we will go again.

Most of the hotel was nice however, the room lacked storage. There is an unfinished space in the wardrobe which was of no use at all. The bathroom was lovely,but the basics were missing. No soap dish or shelving in the shower. I've never been to a hotel where I've had to lay my own breakfast table which is really not to acceptable for a 4 star hotel. That was very disappointing. We have exclusive access to the Portals Lounge but unfortunately there was no vetting and people who had not paid the 30 euro supplement per person were just walking in without being challenged On one day we actually had a load of lads with wrist bands on in the Portals Lounge, they had come from one of the local all inclusive hotels, encouraged by their parents who were stopping at the Son Caliu. We mentioned it at Reception but they did not want to know. Unfortunately, the garden area is very small and everyone is on top of each other which is why we choose to use the Portals Lounge. The hotel is nice but those few thing above let it down. They clearly need more staff on breakfast duty and they need to control the use of the private area's. If they can sort this, it will warrant its 4 star rating

Lovely hotel, great spa/gym area, outside pool area gets busy but easy access to the small beach. Plenty of bars & supermarkets close, but only a 10 min walk into Palma Nova if you want more lively night, also short taxi drive to beautiful harbour Puerto Portals. Third time of using this hotel for a short break.

classy hotel in quiet location. Food very good.Friendy and helpful hotel staff.Newly re-furbished rooms of excellent quality.Our 3rd year running here and will be back .Beach next to the hotel is quite idyllic with facilities for canoeing,boarding and diving.
