Perched above the port, Symi Castle is a Byzantine relic worth venturing up to, built in the 15th century. There’s a cute church too. It’s around a 30-minute walk but worth it for the views at the top across the sea. Time it with sunset for a backdrop of fiery reds and pinks. �
