Kappara, Malta and Gozo
Our rating
Based on 984 reviews
Kappara’s prime location makes it easy to explore the surrounding towns and cities. Take your pick from Sliema, St Paul’s Bay, and Buġibba, which are all less than a 30-minute drive away. Whether it’s relaxing beaches, ancient sites or bustling towns, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
The walled city of Valletta is just a stone’s throw away. Step back in time along these narrow streets and view some of Europe’s finest churches, artworks and architecture. By day, it’s alive with visitors but by night, it’s much more relaxed. Why not visit a restaurant and sample the traditional Maltese cuisine?

Malta and Gozo
Kappara is a small residential suburb located in the northern part of Malta. It is well-known for its family-friendly atmosphere, local charm, and proximity to larger towns like San Ġwann and Birkirkara. The area features several parks and recreational spaces, as well as local shops and restaurants that provide an authentic Maltese experience.
The best time to visit Kappara is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October). During these months, the weather is mild, and it is less crowded compared to the peak summer months, making it more enjoyable for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
Kappara is considered family-friendly with its quiet residential areas, parks, and playgrounds. The local community is welcoming, making it a suitable place for families with children looking to experience daily Maltese life.
Kappara can serve as a good base for exploring Gozo. You can easily access the ferry terminal in Cirkewwa, which connects Malta to Gozo. The ferry ride takes about 25 minutes and provides you with an opportunity to visit various attractions on Gozo, such as the Azure Window, Ramla Bay, and the Citadel in Victoria.
The nearest beaches to Kappara include St. George's Bay, which is a short drive away, and the rocky coastline along the northern part of Malta, such as the beaches in Sliema, St. Julian's, and the more tranquil spots in the northern region like Golden Bay and Ghajn Tuffieha.
