Albufereta Beach

To the north of the city is Playa de la Albufereta. It’s a pale stretch of sand dotted with palm trees, offering pockets shade to the sunseekers that flock here. It’s backed by a developed stretch of coast, with some high-rise buildings. The beach was home to the harbour that served the Roman village of Lucentum, the origin of Alicante.
