Family fun

Family fun

You’ll be amazed by the creative buildings and colourfully-tiled streets of Barcelona. This buzzing, beachside city has endless opportunities for family fun. Football fans can wander around the world-famous Camp Nou, while there’s a huge zoo and some exciting displays at the amazing aquarium too.
Barceloneta Beach

Barceloneta Beach

Barceloneta, in Barcelona’s traditional fishing district, is one of the city’s favourite beaches and it gets very crowded during the summer months with both tourists and locals. It has everything from loungers and cafés, to bike parks and Wi-Fi. It’s also accessible with adapted showers and toilets.

Magic Fountain Show

Magic Fountain Show

For a little bit of Vegas in Barcelona, go and see the Magic Fountain (Font Màgica). The best time to visit is in the evening (Thursday to Sunday), when the lights and music give this dancing fountain a magical feel. There’s no admission fee, just head to the steps near the National Art Gallery.

Park Güell

Park Güell

Park Güell is a stunning garden designed by Gaudi, and his signature ceramic tiling decorates the sculptures and architecture throughout in vivid colours. It’s best to book ahead as over four million visitors pass through its entrance every year, watched over by an impressive mosaic dragon.

Barcelona Zoo

Barcelona Zoo

Barcelona Zoo is in the centre of town at Ciutadella Park and is open all year. It costs about €20 for adults, €12 for three-12 years olds, with kids under three free. It’s a great day out for the family, with dolphin shows, Komodo dragons, primates and much more. There are lots of restaurants on site too.

Camp Nou

Camp Nou

Take a tour of Camp Nou, the stomping ground for Barcelona FC, and discover one of the world’s biggest stadiums. Head through the tunnel onto the famous pitch and imagine 100,000 fans cheering you on. The tour also visits the dressing room and commentary boxes, and costs around €23.

Barcelona Aquarium

Barcelona Aquarium

If you're feeling adventurous, you can get in the water with sharks at L'aquarium Barcelona – admittedly from the safety of a cage. There's also a penguin area where you can watch the birds splash about, and a walk-through glass tunnel immerses you under the ocean with creatures from the deep.
