Camposanto

Camposanto

The cemetery was the last monument to be built on cathedral square. It's thought to have been constructed around a shipload of sacred soil from Golgotha, brought back from the Fourth Crusade. In the 19th century it became one of Europe’s first public museums. Stand back and admire the frescos, statues and tombs.
