Dig up pieces of the city’s past. Hellenistic and Roman artefacts from Thessaloniki and Macedonia have been recovered and put on show. It was established in 1912 and – as it’s been going so long – it’s got a good deal of exhibits. Prehistoric remnants and Greek art are permanently available to see.
The museum’s permanent exhibition takes up 11 rooms, each one displaying a range of old Byzantine relics and artefacts. Follow intricate mosaics on the floor and detailed paintings on the walls, too....
