Six of the best
You can beach-hop all day, with half a dozen sandy beauties to choose from. Take a stroll between them, or if you fancy a ride, just jump on the mini-train. Playa de las Americas beach in the middle of town is the largest, while rocky Praia do Guincho is a surfer’s paradise.
Fun in the waves
Flyboarding, banana boating, parasailing, fly fishing – there’s a world of watersports waiting in Playa de las Americas. Plus you’ve got Siam Park with its giant, gravity-defying water slides, carefully crafted beach and floating market, not to mention the dazzling dolphin shows of Aqualand right on your doorstep.
Playa de las Americas is famous as an after-dark destination, but it’s not just about clubbing. There’s plenty here for all the family to enjoy, with child-friendly restaurants and bars, many welcoming live singers in the evenings. There are edgier performances for more animated parties, too.
