Yachts drift into Porto Montenegro’s marina and spritzes cover the tables of the harbour cafés, while mountains peak in the background – it’s a combination you won’t want to miss.

Sardinia

Italy’s calling, and nowhere says rest and relaxation quite like Sardinia. You’ve got beaches that often feature on the ‘best’ and ‘most beautiful’ round-ups, plus a whole lot of bucket list-worthy nature to uncover here. It’s sometimes referred to as the ‘Caribbean of Europe’ if you needed more convincing.

Porto

There aren’t many things the right amount of pastel de natas can’t fix, so you’re in good hands. They go down best with a glass of port and a side of sunset views over the Luís I Bridge. Bonus tip: stay at The House of Sandeman Hostel and Suites where the bunk beds are wine-barrel shaped. Talk about a cool way of staying on a budget.

Athens

Bit of history here, bit of fun there – an Athens escape is just what you need when you can’t really decide between a beach holiday and a city break. When you’ve climbed the Acropolis and wandered the museums, make your way to Psyrri – the ultra-hip neighbourhood where every watering hole is cooler than the one you just came from.

Copenhagen

Cool homeware shops, pastries on every corner and locals’ outfits that will see you running to the nearest boutique… what’s not to love about Copenhagen? Bonus points if you manage to squeeze in a day trip over to Malmo, Sweden, and tick off two countries in one day.

Madeira

Pull on your hiking boots and get ready to explore every inch of this enchanting island. From leisurely levada walks to mountainous meanders, Madeira’s hiking trails are a real treat!

Tenerife

Dramatic volcanoes, dense forest, rugged cliffs – the terrain of Tenerife makes it a paradise for hiking enthusiasts. In fact, the island is so popular with hikers, an annual walking festival takes place during May each year.

Dolomites (Verona Airport)

Beyond the well-known delights for skiers and boarders, the Dolomites deliver a maze of picturesque paths that’ll wind you through alpine valleys. Expect breathtaking views at every turn – take the time to soak up the peaceful atmosphere and reconnect with nature.
