Ipsos Beach is primarily a shingle and coarse pebble beach on the east coast of Corfu, though some sections may have imported sand. It is renowned for its crystal-clear, shallow, and calm waters, which are protected within the bay. This makes it exceptionally suitable for swimming, especially for families and less confident swimmers. The water quality is consistently excellent.
Yes, Ipsos is highly regarded as a family-friendly resort. While it was previously known for being lively, the atmosphere has generally become more relaxed. The calm, shallow sea is perfect for children, and the narrow beach is backed by numerous amenities, including secure children's play areas, hotels, and safe dining options. Many of the eastern sections of the beach are quieter.
Ipsos offers a balanced mix. It is famous for its long, bustling "strip" located directly across the road from the beach, which features numerous bars and clubs. While it is certainly livelier than some of the more remote Corfiot villages, especially during the high season, it is generally less intense than the infamous party resorts of Kavos. The nightlife is vibrant but contained, allowing those staying slightly outside the main centre to enjoy peace and quiet.
