Bridge of the Germans

Bridge of the Germans

When a German ship, the Gneisenau, was wrecked in Malaga port during a storm, local people came to rescue the sailors, some dying in the attempt. This attractive bridge is Germany's 'thank you' to the city. It was built in 1909 after the Guadalmedina River overflowed and washed the bridges away.
