San Marco Campanile

San Marco Campanile

For 360-degree views of Venice, take the lift to the top of this famous bell tower which stands in the middle of St. Mark's Basilica. Used as a prison in the 15th century, it actually dates back to the 9th century, though much of it was rebuilt after the structure collapsed in 1902. The largest bell was the only part to survive.
