The Route: Kick-start this knockout bike ride in Salou and work your way out away from the coast towards La Mussara. The climb here is steep as the road winds up the mountain, with some serious hairpin bends. Whizz back down towards Cambrils, keeping your eye on the horizon for the first sighting of the glimmering sea.

The Route: Starting from scenic Falset, you’ll pass through rolling vineyards along a road that curves up to the village of Margaleft near the edge of Montsant mountain. Have a rest, then follow the route back towards your starting point but when you reach La Vilella Baixa, turn off towards Porrera.

The Route: You might start and finish this route in Cambrils, but you’ll see plenty of pretty hillsides and traditional towns in between. This challenging climb weaves into countryside cloaked in green, all the way up to the village of Vilaplana. Return back down to Cambrils and treat yourself to an ice cream along the waterfront.
