Flying off on a family holiday? We’ve got plenty of handy tips to help make travelling with children that little bit easier. Whether it’s your first time flying with a baby or you’re a seasoned family flyer, a little preparation can go a long way when you’re heading off on holiday.
From what to pack in your hand luggage and taking child equipment to getting through the airport, we’ve got useful advice to help you feel prepared before you jet off. You’ll also find handy tips for flying with infants and making the journey more enjoyable for little ones.
So, whether you’re heading off for some sunshine, a city break or your first big family adventure, get clued up before you go and make getting there part of the fun!
You can bring up to two items per child or infant free of charge, which will be carried in the hold. These can include: a collapsible pushchair, pram or buggy, a car seat or booster seat, a baby carrier or a travel cot. Each item must weigh no more than 32kg, and any extra items (or weight beyond your allowance) will be charged as standard excess baggage. Did you know you don’t have to worry about the 100ml liquid limit? That's right, you can pre-make up milk to take on the plane, but it may be tested at security. And if you want to heat up milk onboard, simply ask our friendly Cabin Crew.
Window or aisle? Front or back? Whatever your preference, we always recommend pre-booking your seats in advance to ensure you get the seats you want for your family. We’ll always seat children and infants under the age of 12 next to their accompanying adults. Infants under two will sit on the lap of their accompanying adult, with an infant seatbelt provided by the Cabin Crew!
Leave plenty of time to get through security, and check your local airport’s website to see if there’s a family priority lane you can pre-book. You could also order pharmacy essentials to collect at the airport, such as nappies, wipes and suncream, so there’s less to pack in your luggage.

On top of the standard 22kg baggage and 10kg hand luggage included for every passenger aged three and over, you’ll have an extra 10kg luggage allowance for baby and toddler equipment. You can take pushchairs from check-in to security and right up to the plane, then speak to our Red Team about bringing them to the doors when you land.
All our holidays include transfers to and from your hotel for added convenience. You’ll be met at the airport by our friendly Red Team who’ll then show you to your coach. You’ll travel to your resort with other holidaymakers, before being dropped off at your hotel. On return, a coach will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport for your flight home. You've also got the option to hire a car instead, too!
We kindly ask that customers refrain from using their own infant seatbelts onboard. Only seatbelts issued by Jet2.com are permitted for safety reasons.
Infant and children’s car or booster seats are not provided for any transfers (including private transfers) and (if required) must be taken as part of your baggage (at your own cost).
