Where to go on a city break in August
Palma
Perfectly combining beach and city, Palma is a dream during the summer. With average temperatures of 25˚C, August is the hottest month to visit Majorca’s capital. Laze on sparkling shores and discover the old town’s Gothic splendour, before hopping between rooftop bars and hidden-away tapas joints.
Krakow
Poland’s second biggest city really piles on the history, with a medieval old town and atmospheric former Jewish Quarter to explore. Tick off its big-hitting sights as you wander the sunny cobbled streets, before relaxing in Planty Park, a green oasis wrapped around Krakow.
