Piazza di Santa Maria Novella

The front of the black-and-white patterned Santa Maria Novella church dominates this square which is tucked away behind the main railway station. Once used for festivals and tournaments, the square still has the feel of a central gathering-place, ideal for people-watching from one of the pavement cafes.
