The area: As a relatively fresher-faced option in Gran Canaria following construction in 2008, the New Course at Salobre Golf Resort is a winner. It’s shorter than the on-site Old Course, and has a technical layout with excellent sea views on most holes out of all 18.

Holes: This course was designed with a challenge in mind. The par 4 18th provides a fantastic finish. The fairway zigzags towards the green, but watch the out-of-bounds wasteland down the left.

The area: The Old Course takes in the traditional terraced valleys of the south of Gran Canaria. Enjoy the fantastic views across the landscape all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. This is a particularly great choice for golfers, but why not raise the stakes and play on the par 69 New Course, too?

Holes: Between 28 bunkers, the par 3 11th is regarded the most beautiful hole on the course and features a spectacular view. A huge boulder and cacti frame the green.

The area: Host of the 2007 Spanish PGA Championship, this seaside oasis of green blends fantastically with the blue of the neighbouring Atlantic. You’ll find that the first nine holes overlook the neighbouring mountains, while the second nine almost spill out right ahead of the sea. Prepare to be wowed.

Holes: The par 3 12th offers spectacular views. As it's a green that is perched near the ocean, over-hitting your approach will see you drop from the large water hazard – the Atlantic!

The area: Located on the famous Maspalomas Sand Dunes, this is a great, easy-going course with wide fairways and a cooling sea breeze. You’ll be in for an excellent experience in picturesque surroundings, even when the days are really hot! Expect a few challenges alongside some easier holes.

Holes: The par 3 16th is a pretty interesting hole. You need to be an accurate shot in order to chip the ball over water towards a small green. Think you can handle it?
