Monastery of Savathiana

After a turbulent past, the picturesque Monastery of Savanthiana stands firm as a great visitor’s attraction and is well worth a visit during a day up in the hillside villages of Crete. The precinct of the church is well looked after by nuns and is said to be the ‘garden of Virgin Mary’.
