Byzantine Tower of Ouranoupolis

The sleepy village of Ouranoupolis sits at the threshold of the monastic community of Mount Athos. It’s sprawled around a fourteenth-century Byzantine tower that is now a museum exhibiting Christian antiques from Halkidiki. Opening times can be erratic, but the outside is worth viewing and it’s a great vantage point.
