Giftun Island lies approximately 25 kilometres offshore from Hurghada, in the heart of the Red Sea. It's part of the Giftun Islands archipelago, a protected marine national park renowned for its pristine coral reefs and crystal-clear waters. The island is easily accessible via boat excursions from Hurghada’s marinas, with most trips taking between 1 to 1.5 hours.
The most popular way to visit Giftun Island from Hurghada is by joining a guided boat tour. Options include half-day snorkelling trips, full-day excursions and luxury glass-bottom boat experiences. Many tour operators offer pick-up from Hurghada hotels, and trips typically include snorkelling gear, lunch and plenty of time to relax on the beach.
Pack suncream, swimwear, a towel, sunglasses, a hat and a reusable water bottle. While most tours provide snorkelling gear and lunch, bringing your own mask or fins can enhance comfort. Don’t forget a waterproof camera or dry bag for valuables. Cash is useful for tips and optional extras.
There are no permanent restaurants on Giftun Island, as it’s a protected nature reserve. However, most organised tours include a buffet-style lunch served aboard the boat or on designated beach areas. Basic facilities such as changing rooms and toilets may be available at some beaches, but options are limited so come prepared.
We don’t have any villas in this resort right now. But we’ve hundreds available in other destinations, so find your perfect one now.
