Fiskardo is located at the northernmost tip of the island of Kefalonia, one of the Ionian Islands in Greece.
Fiskardo is primarily famous for being one of the very few villages on Kefalonia that was largely untouched by the devastating 1953 earthquake. Because of this, it retains its original Venetian-era architecture, colourful traditional buildings, and old harbour charm, making it exceptionally picturesque. It's also a very popular destination for yachting and sailing.
Fiskardo has a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. During the day, it's a bustling hub with visitors enjoying the scenery and the harbour activity. In the evenings, it becomes very lively with people dining and socialising along the illuminated harbourfront. It has a blend of traditional charm and cosmopolitan elegance.
Fiskardo has a reputation for having some of the best restaurants and a vibrant dining scene on the island, particularly along the harbourfront. You can find a wide variety of options, from traditional Greek tavernas serving fresh seafood to more upscale international cuisine, cafes, and lively bars.
