Grotto of Catullus

Grotto of Catullus

At the tip of Sirmione peninsula is the Grotto of Catullus, a Roman ruin from the first century. Spread over two hectares, the complex is made up of huge sections of walls rising into the sky. It's a great spot for a walk with good views of the Lake. There's no evidence, though, that Catullus actually lived here.
