The best time to visit Paris is during the spring or early autumn. During these months, the weather is mild, the city is vibrant with blooming flowers or autumn foliage, and tourist crowds are generally smaller than in summer. These periods also offer pleasant temperatures ideal for sightseeing, dining outdoors, and exploring parks like the Jardin des Tuileries or the Luxembourg Gardens.
Top attractions in Paris include the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral (exterior viewing while restoration continues), Sacré-Cœur Basilica, Musée d’Orsay, and the Palace of Versailles. Don't miss a Seine River cruise, a stroll along the Champs-Élysées, or a visit to Montmartre for its artistic charm and panoramic views.
Paris is a haven for food lovers. Must-try dishes include croissants, baguettes, macarons, escargot, steak frites, onion soup (soupe à l’oignon) and crème brûlée. Visit a traditional bistro, a patisserie, or a crêperie for authentic flavours. Don’t forget to sample French wine and cheese at a local fromagerie or café.
Many museums in Paris offer free entry on the first Sunday of the month (from October to March) or for visitors under 26 (if from the EU). The Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, and Centre Pompidou are among those with free access under these conditions. Some museums, like the Musée Carnavalet (dedicated to Parisian history), are free all year round.
